A Cybercrime Awareness Programme was conducted at Vivekavardhani Degree & P.G. College to create awareness among students about cybercrimes and the safe use of the internet and social media.
The Programme was addressed by guest speakers cyber crime DSP. Ashok Kumar and SI. Jithender. They explained different types of cybercrimes such as online fraud, phishing, identity theft, and social media scams. They particularly highlighted how people, especially women and students, can be trapped through fake social media accounts and online communication. They advised students not to share personal information, passwords, bank details, or private photos with unknown persons.
The Principal of the college, Ch. Satish, also addressed the gathering and emphasized the importance of cyber awareness and responsible use of digital technology.
The Programme was attended by faculty members including Sandhya Prasad from the English Department and Life Science faculty U. Sridhar, N. Nagaraju, and Sudhakar. The programme helped students understand how to stay safe and alert in the digital world.
