Awareness Programme on the Importance of Blood Donation
Kothagudem, August 8:
The Department of Microbiology and NSS, Vivekavardhani Degree & P.G. College, Kothagudem, organized a Blood Group Identification Programme for students. Blood group testing was conducted for nearly 300 students, and their blood groups were identified and recorded.
The programme aimed to create awareness among students about the importance of knowing their blood group and the significance of blood donation during medical emergencies.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Veerababu explained the importance of blood donation and encouraged students to be aware of their blood groups. He highlighted the importance of blood availability during accidents, surgeries and other emergency situations.
He also created awareness about voluntary blood donation and encouraged students to participate in blood donation programmes and contribute to saving lives.
The students actively participated in the programme with great enthusiasm. The programme successfully promoted health awareness, social responsibility and the spirit of helping others among students.
The programme was attended by Mr. M.V. Chowdary, Chairman, Jnanodaya Education Society Educational Institutions; Mr. M. Pranav Krishna, Managing Director; Ch. Satish, Principal; P. Sai Krishna, Dean; Mr. A. Mallesham, NSS Programme Officer; Mr. Kiran, Academic Director, Mr. D. Praveen, Administrative Officer and other faculty members.
Teaching staff members Mr. U. Sridhar, Mr. D. Satish and Mr. V. Sudhakar actively participated in the programme and supported the successful conduct of the blood group identification and awareness activities.
